Objective: This research is aimed at determining the impact of tacit knowledge transfer via storytelling method on clinical competency of I.C.U nurses working at Fatemeh Zahra Hospital, Bushehr, Iran 2011.
Materials & Methods: This study is a double-group semi-experimental research with pre and post test which was conducted on 16 nurses in I.C.U. Research community contain all 41 nurses who occupied at I.C.U. Research instrument was a self- reflective questionnaire containing questions of general and specialized I.C.U. skills. Questionnaires were completed by the participants prior to and after intervention and the results obtained were analyzed by paired t-test.
Results: To evaluate clinical competency, average pretest score of general and specialized competency was obtained 219.50 and average post-test score was calculated 239.69. Comparing these two score, it was clear average posttest score was significantly higher (P=0.003).
Conclusion: Results of the present research reveal that transfer of knowledge and experience by storytelling method improves and enhances clinical competency of nurses in different fields which are related to clinical competency.
